Things we do

We love to depict the plant world!

The Botanical Artists’ Society Queensland is a voluntary, not for profit organisation formed to foster a greater knowledge,
love and understanding of botanical art and illustration.

Bark, Catherin Bull

The Society’s members include practicing botanical artists and students from beginners to advanced, who are interested and enjoy learning about the botanical art form.

The Society's aims are

  • To pursue excellence in Botanical Art
  • To embrace both classical and innovative approaches to Botanical Art
  • To conduct exhibitions of Botanical Art
  • To liaise with botanic gardens, herbaria and other relevant organisations
Meet with members

Informal painting days encourage members to share ideas and develop friendships with others who have a love of the art form.

Organise classes, workshops & master classes

The Society conducts classes and workshops available for all. They extend the skills of members at all levels of expertise and promote the development of botanical art. Structured courses, individual workshops and extended advanced-level workshops are offered.

Stimulate interest

We love to see our members marvel at the beauty of plants and to share our knowledge in botany.

Promote wider exposure

One main exhibition is held each year. Occasional exhibitions and displays are also organised throughout the year.

A printed newsletter, twice a year, and a monthly e-newsletter are available to members.  Its content includes items of information on a wide range of topics and keeps members in touch with what is happening within and beyond the Society.
