Clare was born in Birkenhead, England. Living in Sydney, nursing became a large part of her life.
In Glen Innes, time was occupied in raising three daughters, and in 1991 completed a Fine Arts Course at TAFE with Tanya Robertson-Cuninghame and Rod Taylor.
Education brought the family to Brisbane. It was at the BASQ exhibition at the Redlands Museum, Cleveland in 2006: A brush with History – A Historical Perspective, which inspired her to attend the Course at BASQ with Margaret Hastie.
Further workshops followed at BASQ with Claudia Bond, Dorothee Sampayo and Barbara Duckworth. Over the last few years workshops with Gillian Rankin at Mercy Place, Bardon, have guided her.
Clare is also a member of the Yurara Art Society, Redlands.
