19 June 2021 –
With Louise Saunders
Australian Native orchids and exotic orchids make beautiful subjects to paint due to their unique forms and exquisite colours. Louise will demonstrate drawing and painting techniques and give guidance for composition, colour strength, colour mixing and the fine details that help make your painting pop.
Choose the option of live material, orchids, ferns etc, or photographic material. You could buy an orchid from a local orchid nursery such as Fame Orchids or from the florist. Or you might like to visit a bushland area to find and photograph some native ground orchids.
First day, 19 June:
Work on your road map, your composition using an assortment of live specimens, photographs, and drawings. Work on a simple specimen or a more complex arrangement that may include ground litter with moss and dried leaves or other plants such as ferns or allied plants.
Second Day, 26 June:
Work on the painting process using painting techniques to enhance and strengthen your use of colour.
